It’s amazing how babies and toddler develop in the same ways at the same times. I subscribe to a BabyCenter.com newsletter and this is what it says about a 21-month-old: “What’s your toddler doing? Your 21-month-old is probably interested in rearranging furniture, assisting with chores, and using her own play shelves, table, and chairs. She might also be able to put on her clothing, wash and dry her hands, or brush her teeth with help.”
That is Madilyn! Right now as I type she’s walking around and “dusting” her toys and the furniture. Earlier today she was using the wet Swiffer mop on the floors — including the carpets. She loves mimicking adult behavior. She also will clean up her toys or markers/crayons when she’s finished playing. Oh, if only this would stick!
