The Big Day

Guess where I am? I’m in the labor and delivery room at Winnie Palmer! Baby Madilyn is on her way — probably before the night is over.

Family Accident

This afternoon about 2:30 p.m., my nephews and niece (Brock, Drew and Jaycie) were in a car accident with their grandmother, Dreama, in Leesburg (about an hour outside of Orlando). Everyone is going to be fine, but Brock broke BOTH his legs. Jaycie and the baby are banged up and Dream has a concussion and bruising (they’re still checking her out). Dreama and Brock were air-lifted to Orlando Regional Medical Center and Jaycie and the baby, Drew, were taken to Leesburg Hospital. So mom, Ginger (my mother-in-law) and I went up there to be with Pam, and my dad and Jeff went downtown to be with Brock and John.

It’s been a long day, but Jaycie and Drew were discharged and are at home and Pam has gone to the hospital downtown to be with Brock, who will have to stay at least overnight.

BUT somewhere in the middle of all of this I started having some pains and what I think are contractions. I definitely haven’t had this much pain before, so it’s something different going on … I am home now with mom and dad, and we’re starting to time them but they’re really irregular and not very long.

This may be the beginning of labor!!

I am just so thankful the children are in miraculous shape for the type of car wreck they were in. A tractor-trailer hydroplaned and jack-knifed and they were in one of two SUVs who ran right into it as it crashed into some trees. It’s truly a miracle they are okay. God is merciful.
