Jeff, Madilyn and I visited Pam and Baby Dane in the hospital last night. He is so adorable.

He makes little noises whenever someone around him talks. It’s so cute.

Update on Gram: Ginger and Aunt Pat took her to the doctor yesterday where they gave her a shot for the pain and drained some fluid off her knee. Aunt Pat booked a plane ticket for next Wednesday to take her back home. I think she’ll be happy to get back to the comforts of home and hopefully feel much better very soon.

Family Update: Dane is Here!

Dane Ricker Michael arrived last night. I’m not sure of the time, but he weighed 7 lb 9 oz and is 19 1/4″ long. They are having to treat him for shallow breathing but they said that’s not uncommon. It’s still unsettling, though.

Kim Graham sent me a picture from the hospital last night. Great shot of little Dane! She said they were all watching the nurses give Dane a bath. Thanks, Kim.

I haven’t heard how Pam is doing today. I’m sure she’s elated Dane is finally here.

If you’ve seen my Twitter updates, you’ll know that I’m with Grandma O’Hara playing nurse-maid. Gram twisted her knee bad Monday and Ginger and I took her to the ER. Nothing broken but she’s in awful pain so something might be torn. She fell again yesterday afternoon just as Pam was going into the hospital so Jeff, Madilyn and I stayed with Gram to help.

Jeff had to go to work today and our gracious friends Shannon and Erin offered to watch Madilyn for me today (well, I practically begged them but they were more than happy to accept). We’re picking up Aunt Pat from the airport tonight who’s flying down to help with her mother. So thankful for that.

Your prayers appreciated for baby Dane’s breathing to normalize, for Pam’s recovery and Gram’s recovery.

Madilyn’s Nicknames

Yesterday evening I was cleaning out some kitchen cabinets when I found this list that Jeff and I made last summer. We had so many nicknames for Madilyn then we thought it would make a funny blog post to name them all. Over several days we kept writing these names down that we called her. Then I misplaced the paper so I never got to post it. I found it and read it last night and realized that we don’t call her most of these names anymore, so I’m glad we made this list. Another memory for the blog! Here they are in no particular order:

Father’s Day Weekend

We had a good Father’s Day Weekend. This is Madilyn’s beautiful dress she wore yesterday to church. We had one service Sunday morning with Bro. and Sis. Tenney. Afterward we went out to eat with Gordy and Alison and “Baby Cake” (Kate), then came home for a nap. Later that afternoon I ran some errands and Jeff and Madilyn enjoyed some pool time at our neighbors’ Keith and Linda’s house.

Happy Father’s Day

Happy Father’s Day, Jeff! You are such a wonderful Dad and husband. I think you hung the moon, and Madilyn’s certain of it.
